Parenting can be stressful, and sometimes, both parents and kids need a break. The Open Doors Imagination Station offers parents a scheduled block of three hours of care, once per week, completely free of charge. While we are not a daycare and cannot provide care while parents work or attend school, we give families the chance to rest and recharge. This service helps reduce family stress while providing children a safe, enriching environment to socialize and grow.

Imagination Station Testimonial

“I cannot emphasize too strongly how wonderful of a support Open Doors has been. Not only does it help my kids with social skills and to make friends in a safe environment, but there are hundreds of tasks that are difficult or impossible to do while parenting a toddler or my 3 school-age kids. To have a few hours every week or two that I can schedule something like a dentist appointment, car repair, rest because I'm exhausted, etc., is such a blessing! With so many working moms and with other moms feeling so overwhelmed themselves, there just isn't enough help to go around. Before learning about Open Doors I tried to look into Daycare but couldn't find one that would do part-time and it was too expensive. Open Doors fills a need that doesn't exist anywhere else and I frequently encourage other moms to use it when they, like me, find themselves unable to find childcare for those short, essential tasks or for when they feel like they're underwater. I think the only reason Open Doors ever has openings is because most people don't know about it, and sometimes moms have a kind of internal belief that they need to be able to handle everything themselves. Those of us who do use it, however, can't remember how we got by before we had this help. Many of us don't have nearby family members who can take kids for a few hours so Open Doors is our only option. I'm so grateful for your help, my kids always love time there and the few hours I get to myself have an enormous impact for me!”
