About Us

At Open Doors Utah, we believe in offering a hand up, not a hand-out. As Davis County’s Family Support Center and Community Action Agency, we are dedicated to helping families and individuals overcome barriers to achieve lasting independence and stability. Since our founding in 1982, we have expanded from a small respite care nursery to a comprehensive organization providing vital services to low-income families and those facing housing instability throughout Davis County.

Our mission is to bring the community together to help families overcome challenges and thrive. Whether we are offering respite care for parents, helping families find stable housing, or providing mentorship and support through our Circles Program, everything we do is centered on empowering individuals and families to build brighter futures.

Our History

What began as a small respite nursery in 1982 has grown into a cornerstone of support for families across Clearfield, Layton, and beyond. Over the years, Open Doors Utah has evolved to meet the growing needs of the community, expanding our services to include a food bank, homelessness prevention programs, and a range of other essential resources. Today, we continue to serve as a trusted resource for families seeking to improve their circumstances and gain self-sufficiency.

Our IMPACT

Through our programs and services, Open Doors Utah impacts thousands of lives every year. Whether it’s helping families secure safe housing, providing mentorship through our Circles Program, or assisting with food bank services, we are proud to be a beacon of hope and support for those in need. Our commitment to Davis County has never wavered, and we continue to work every day to create a stronger, more resilient community.
