Empowerment Toward Financial Independence

The Self-Sufficiency Programs at Open Doors Utah are designed to break down the barriers that prevent families and individuals from achieving long-term stability. Through personalized case management, supportive mentorship, and critical housing assistance, these programs guide participants on their path to financial independence. Each program is tailored to provide the necessary tools, resources, and support that help people move from surviving to thriving.

OUR PROgrams

Homeless to Housed

This is a short-term rental assistance program for families in temporary crisis. The program will pay the first month’s rent and security deposit on an approved housing unit. Each month thereafter, Open Doors will pay a declining portion of the rent until 100% of the rent is covered by the participant. While in this program, families meet regularly with a case manager. This program has specific eligibility requirements and requires enrollment. There is no application for this program. Meet with a case manager to get enrolled.

Case Management

Case Management is where families and individuals meet with case managers to set goals that will help them to overcome their barriers to financial and personal independence. Our case managers connect families and individuals with resources to maintain or obtain better employment and otherwise become self-sufficient. Referrals often include other Open Doors programs but are also to other community agencies.

Circles Program

Circles is a long-term program that begins with a 12-week class aimed at helping people go from surviving to thriving. Circles creates a new circle of peers, mentors, and support that helps people to revolutionize themselves, strengthen their families, and overcome the barriers they face. After 12 weeks, participants graduate, match with mentors, and continue to set and achieve their goals.
